Sodium stearate
The right emulsifying, dispersing, lubricating, surfactant agent
Product
Sodium stearate is the sodium salt of stearic acid produced from the saponification of oils and fats. Its chemical structure (i.e., hydrophilic part and a hydrophobic part) makes it an important components in several industries: in paints and coating as an emulsifying and dispersing agent, in plastics and especially in high temperature plastics due to its very high melting temperature that makes it an excellent processing and lubricating agent, but also in pharmaceutical (surfactant), in food, in cosmetics (gelling agent) and in paper industry (dispersing and wetting agent).
